Vic Methven - Vice President
Meet Vic, one of Western's amazing Vice Presidents
We're so incredibly lucky to have Vic stepping up to the leadership role that she's throughly deserved for years now!
An incredible hockey player representing Auckland across the grades and into PHL, she's an outstanding coach, co-ordinator, motivator and friend. Always putting her hand up to help, she's one of the key members of our committee and someone you should all introduce yourselves to!
We asked Vic a couple of questions to help you get to know her a little better. Read on to learn more!
Could you give a short description of your history here at Western?
I have been playing for Western since I was 8 years old (so long ago now….) and I have been very lucky with my journey coming through Western Districts and the support I have had from this club.
What made you want to take on the role you’re in? What causes or issues are you most passionate about?
The club has supported me throughout my playing career and I want to give back where I can, especially when talking and seeing our long standing members of the club still give up their time to help keep the club running. Hopefully more people can come forward and volunteer to help!
What goals do you want to see reached this season, or further with your involvement?
Very excited that the Premier Golf Day is coming back! Friday 30th May, save the date.
What is something you’d like our community at Western to know about the club?
We are so lucky with the facilities we have at the club and the events we are able to run because of this. The atmosphere in the club rooms is always good and I hope we can get more supporters down to Western to support their teams.
Thank you so much for your help this year, Vic. You're doing a fantastic job helping us all play, enjoy and experience all aspects of our hockey!
